Bluey Takes Over the Newest Xbox Console

Bandit is taking over Microsoft’s newest console as the talking dog and father of two from the popular children’s show Bluey takes the shape of an exclusive Xbox console.

The gaming giant recently announced an extremely limited edition Xbox Series X themed after Bluey — specifically, the show’s recently released video game tie-in. Consisting of an Xbox Series X console adorned with Bandit’s smiling face and a light blue controller with his two pups, Bluey and Bingo, depicted on each side, the bundle is extremely limited, as Microsoft has only manufactured a single unit as part of a giveaway.

Despite the show’s massive popularity, the console is only available as part of a social media sweepstake in which a random user will win the bundle at no charge in exchange for retweeting the announcement post. Fans can enter the giveaway on Microsoft’s official X (Twitter) account by retweeting the original post by Dec. 13, though with thousands of other entrants already, the chances grow slimmer every day.

Released as a promotional product for Bluey: The Video Game, the limited-edition Bluey Xbox console is one of many promotional tie-ins from Microsoft’s flagship gaming platform, as the company has also released collaborative products like pizza-scented controllers for TMNT: Mutant Mayhem. Most recently, Microsoft also dropped the exclusive Wonka bundle featuring an edible controller made of chocolate and an exclusive display diorama themed after the upcoming film in a similar giveaway.

Bluey: The Video Game is an interactive tie-in work for the Bluey TV show that sees players solve various problems straight out of the series itself while meeting with many of its most popular characters along the way. Released on Nov. 17 on Xbox Series X|S. PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch and PC, the game has enjoyed solid reviews from fans and critics alike, with many claiming that it does an excellent job of capturing the show’s themes and tone.

Bluey has enjoyed massive popularity during its three-season run, amassing a fan base of young children and even adults who often praise the title’s depictions of parenting and post-partum mental health struggles. Hailing from Australia, the show gained an audience on ABC Kids before making its way to Disney+ internationally, where every season is available to stream for subscribers.
