Metal Gear Solid star David Hayter returned to promote the series’ remaster bundle.
The official X, formerly known as Twitter, account for Konami posted a trailer for the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection, which included an appearance from beloved Solid Snake and Naked Snake voice actor David Hayter. The live-action promotional video notably marked Hayter’s return to the franchise after Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, a PSP-exclusive spinoff that was released all the way back in 2010.
David Hayter is widely known for his voice work on the Metal Gear Solid series. The actor first portrayed Solid Snake in the 1998 classic Metal Gear Solid, and went on to voice the character in subsequent mainline entries up to Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Hayter was additionally the voice for Naked Snake in Metal Gear Solid 3 and Peace Walker, though 24 star Kiefer Sutherland ended up replacing him in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Series creator Hideo Kojima claimed this was because he wanted a performer who could act and speak like someone in their late forties to better reflect the character’s age.
Metal Gear Solid Releases Master Collection
The Metal Gear Solid Master Collection packages several remastered ports of the most beloved titles in the franchise, which include Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The Master Collection additionally features the special VR missions for Metal Gear Solid, along with ports of the very first entries into the franchise, Metal Gear and its sequel, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. Longtime fans might also appreciate the bundled screenplay and master books for Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2, which are included in the Master Collection as digital collectibles.

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eaterhas yet to receive an official release date.
