Little Nightmares III Releases Footage of Co-op Gameplay

Bandai Namco has published a new 18-minute clip of gameplay on YouTube from its upcoming title Little Nightmares III.

Bandai Namco’s YouTube channel shows that the latest entry in the Little Nightmares series will continue its focus on puzzles and platforming with an added emphasis on co-op. Little Nightmares III is the third game of Little Nightmares, a series of puzzle-platformer horror titles developed by British studio Supermassive and published by Bandai Namco. The game is set for release sometime in 2024.

What to Expect From Little Nightmares III

The latest footage for Little Nightmares III has numerous details for fans to analyze. There was a heavy emphasis on the cooperation between two players as they controlled the duo, Low and Alone, and explored a city known as the Necropolis. Additionally, the pair each have unique abilities, with Alone using a large wrench and Low using a bow and arrow. Little Nightmares III will also have a single-player mode where the other character is controlled by AI.

As with the previous two games, the minuscule players must hide from and escape the giants trying to reach them. The description of the trailer reads “They’ll need to creep carefully, though… No one gets to toddle through Monster Baby’s playground without a little game of hide and seek.” However, the trailer includes a “pre-alpha gameplay footage” watermark in its corner, meaning the gameplay shown is subject to change in the coming months.

The game is a standalone to the first Little Nightmares and its prequel, Little Nightmares II. The story follows two new masked, silent protagonists, Low and Alone, as they explore a massive wasteland known as Nowhere. The Little Nightmares games have received praise from gamers and critics for not only their clever puzzles and gameplay but also for their dark fantasy atmosphere, making it feel as though players were thrust into a dark children’s film like Coraline or 9.

Little Nightmares III will launch in 2024 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
