Activision Blizzard Will Possibly Add Latest Games to Xbox Game Pass in 2024

In the lead-up to Microsoft’s historic purchase of Activision Blizzard, the company has announced plans to put its catalog on the Xbox Game Pass.

With the approach of Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard, The Verge has reported that the latter plans to add numerous games to the Xbox Game Pass. This comes after it was announced that Microsoft would finalize its deal with Activision-Blizzard on October 13th. The finalization of this acquisition marks the conclusion of a corporate saga going back to the beginning of last year when Microsoft first revealed its plans. Most of these projects are slated for 2024, so gamers should keep an eye out for future developments.

Games That May Be Added to the Xbox Game Pass

One of the major points of the announcement was which games would and would not be added to the Xbox Game Pass in the near future, especially forthcoming and recent games. For those expecting the recently released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III or Diablo IV, those two titles will sadly not be added to the game pass this year.

Despite this, both Microsoft and Activision Blizzard have ambitious plans for this deal going forward. The tweet goes on to describe how they “expect to start working with Xbox to bring our titles to more players around the world.” As both Activision and Blizzard were two of the most prolific developers in gaming prior to the deal, there is a vast catalog of games for the Xbox Game Pass to add.

The Future of Microsoft and Activision Blizzard

Even before this deal was finalized, this debate sent waves throughout the gaming world. These ranged from concerns over Microsoft becoming a monopoly to a recent legal battle against the FTC.

As for both Activision and Blizzard, these companies’ futures are not free of struggles yet. The latter’s future remains ambiguous after the scathing accusations made against Blizzard years before. Additionally, the Call of Duty franchise will see a delay in entry into the Xbox Game Pass due to a preexisting deal with Sony.
