The critically acclaimed Soulslike game Lies of P has future DLC planned according to the job listings of publisher Neowiz.
News site Comicbook has revealed that Lies of P is to receive DLC in the future, which was essentially confirmed when X user Okami Games noted that Neowiz Games’ website listed DLC as being planned for production. This is to be expected from the publishers given that Lies of P was a massive success both critically and financially. However, no official announcements from Neowiz have been made yet. Also stated on the website is that DLC is still in the planning phase, meaning that it will be a long while before players can even expect a release date or trailer for this content.
What Is Lies of P?
Lies of P is an action RPG from Korean publisher Neowiz based on Carlo Collodi’s The Adventures of Pinocchio. As has been noted by many reviewers, the game is “Soulslike” in the style of Fromsoft’s infamously challenging titles. While Bloodborne is the most comparable title, the game has received praise for not only capturing Fromsoft’s signature style but also adding its own unique spin on the formula with unique elements.
Despite the game’s departure from the usual stories about Pinocchio, at its core, Lies of P remains surprisingly faithful to Collodi’s original work. Many of the locations and characters in the game are based on Pinocchio’s original story in one way or another, and the titular act of lies is a major gameplay element.
What to Expect From the Lies of P DLC
Given that this listing was only just made public, one can only speculate on what strings will be attached to this DLC. The world of Lies of P, much like series that inspired the game, has limitless potential as to where it can go next. Usually with Soulslike DLC, they will be made for veteran players and ramp up the difficulty. Infamous examples include The Old Hunters from Bloodborne and Artorias the Abysswalker from Dark Souls. As these DLC have yet to even be officially announced, players can expect a long wait until their release.
