Attack on Titan Comes to UVS Games’ UniVersus Collectible Card Game

UVS Games is bringing the critically acclaimed Attack on Titan anime series to its popular UniVersus Collectible Card Game in 2024.

Per UVS Games, the company is collaborating with Japanese publisher Kodansha to bring the renowned series by Hajime Isayama to life in the UniVersus Collectible Card Game. The upcoming anime-themed sets will feature fan-favorite characters from the Attack on Titan series with original and reimagined artwork. Longtime UniVersus CCG players will enjoy the new strategic gameplay brought by the Attack on Titan sets, while newcomers will be able to hop in and experience the fun without fear of getting lost.

This isn’t the first time UVS Games has welcomed a mega anime series to its impressive roster of franchises. UniVersus CCG has made decks themed around My Hero Academia, Yu Yu Hakusho and Cowboy Bebop. Anime-adjacent franchises like Street Fighter, Soul Calibur, Darkstalkers and Mega Man have also been featured in UniVersus CCG. On top of that, UVS Games has featured the Mortal Kombat series, as well as World of Indines from American indie publisher Level 99 Games.

After a decade on the air, the Attack on Titan anime TV series has recently concluded in Attack on Titan: The Final Season. Fans anticipating the animated adaptation of the final Attack on Titan storyline celebrated the dramatic conclusion, while humorously paying tribute to the series’ fallen hero. The series finale of Attack on Titan not only crashed the servers of streaming sites like Crunchyroll but also caused the new ending theme song to spike on YouTube. “Itterasshai” by Ai Higuchi surpassed the Spy x Family Season 2 opening theme song with 1.3 million views in a single day.

Series creator Isayama recently shared a touching message to Attack of Titans fans worldwide. The message thanked audiences for following the anime for 10 years and apologized profusely to studio MAPPA for having to animate the amazing yet complicated action sequences in the final season that Isayama himself struggled to illustrate for the manga. On social media X, Isayama shared a special illustration of Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert. Yuichiro Hayashi, the anime director of Attack on Titan: The Final Season, also shared a special illustration of his own.

Although the Attack of Titan anime is officially over, an upcoming art book will feature an additional story for the manga and preview Isayama’s new series Akudo as well. Attack on Titan is available for streaming on Crunchyroll and Hulu.
