Crunchyroll, the popular anime streaming service available worldwide, is offering premium subscribers access to a library of anime-inspired mobile games such as WayForward’s River City Girls and Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery.
Per a press release, the Crunchyroll Game Vault is a new anime mobile game service that will be available to Mega Fan ($9.99/mo) and Ultimate Fan ($14.99/mo) subscribers. The games available on the Crunchyroll Game Vault will be ad-free and feature no in-app purchases. Starting today, the Crunchyroll Game Vault is launching with five anime-inspired mobile games ready for download: Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery, Captain Velvet Meteor: The Jump+ Dimensions, Inbento, River City Girls and Wolfstride.
“WayForward and Arc System Works are thrilled to be teaming up with Crunchyroll Game Vault for the mobile version of River City Girls,” said River City Girls director Adam Tierney of WayForward. “The anime-style visuals, manga-like cutscenes, and catchy synthpop music all should feel right at home for Crunchyroll premium members. Nat Montero, Head of Development at Akupara Games, also spoke positively about Crunchyroll, including the Studio Ghibli-esque adventure game in its new Game Vault service. “We launched Behind the Frame on mobile platforms because we knew how much these audiences truly appreciate quality, immersive experiences. The hand-drawn animations, the tactile feel of cracking eggs or swiping a paintbrush– it’s perfect for touch devices.
