Destiny 2’s Season of the Wish Reveals Sneak Peek of The Witcher Collab

Destiny 2 teases players with Geralt of Rivia-inspired gear in a surprise The Witcher crossover announcement prior to the launch of Season of the Wish.

Destiny 2 players have every reason to be excited for the final season of the Lightfall DLC, as Season of the Wish promises to deliver a fulfilling Year 6 wrap-up that will tide fans over until The Final Shape expansion drops in February. Since its initial launch in 2017, Destiny 2 has maintained a strong player base with solid gameplay, deep lore and developed characters. Customization options also extended the game’s replay value, especially in the PvP modes where players were allowed to wield seasonal weapons in skirmishes. However, Bungie promises to take this a step further, recently teasing players with new Witcher-inspired gear and cosmetics for the Lightfall expansion‘s Season of the Wish.

Destiny 2 players will have the option to customize their characters’ cosmetics with gear inspired by The Witcher‘s Geralt of Rivia. The game offered a sneak peek of the custom armors capped by Witcher-inspired Guardian headgear. The collaborative ensembles feature variations of the Kaer Morhen, Skellige Undvik and Grandmaster Legendary Ursine armors Geralt wore in The Witcher games, redesigned to resemble Destiny 2‘s hunter armor sets. Reception to the announcement was largely positive among Witcher fans, but some users on X (formerly Twitter) also expressed disappointment at having to pay for the DLC cosmetics.

Breaking Down Destiny 2’s Witcher DLC

User Destiny Bulletin on X revealed that the Destiny 2 and The Witcher crossover DLC will feature armor ornaments, a Ghost shell, ship, Sparrow, emote and finisher, which costs more than approximately $100 in total compared to Destiny 2‘s other collaborative content drops. The game has previously featured tie-ins with numerous franchises, including Fortnite and Fall Guys in 2022, as well as God of War, Ratchet & Clank, The Last of Us, Horizon Zero Dawn and Ghost of Tsushima earlier this year. Bungie has yet to confirm if players can also purchase the Witcher DLC using in-game currencies Silver and Bright Dust at the Eververse store.

Season of the Wish is the fourth and final season of Destiny 2‘s Lightfall expansion, which sees Calus joining the Witness, the Shadow Legion Cabal and Tormentors in campaigns to invade the human city of Neomuna, extract the Veil and usher in the second Collapse. Season of the Wish is the culmination of Destiny 2‘s Light and Darkness saga, which directly ties into the next expansion, The Final Shape.

Destiny 2 Lightfall‘s Season of the Wish launches on Nov. 28.
