Disney Dreamlight Valley Gets Expansion and Apple Arcade Version

Disney Dreamlight Valleywill receive its first paid expansion, an extensive update and an Apple Arcade port.

Gameloft has announced the arrival of the first paid expansion for Disney Dreamlight Valley. Through the Disney Dreamlight Valley Showcase live stream and Gematsu, Gameloft gave an extensive breakdown of the game’s future. The expansion, Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time, promises a fresh narrative across three acts and a boatload of new content.

Players will delve into the expansion starting with Act 1, which will see residents take on Aladdin’s Jafar and his nefarious schemes. Players will also be introduced to iconic characters such as Gaston from Beauty and the Beast, Rapunzel from Tangled and EVE from WALL-E. These characters are within the realms of Ancient’s Landing, the Glittering Dunes, and the Wild Tangle, the new biomes designed to expand the universe of Dreamlight Valley. The expansion also brings the Royal Hourglass, a tool that allows players to bend time, and Ancient Machines, which automate daily tasks in the game.

New mini-games will be available with the introduction of Scramblecoin, an in-game board game where players compete against Disney and Pixar villagers. Winning in Scramblecoin will require collecting character-inspired figurines, each with unique abilities, to amass the most coins, thereby enhancing character friendships and unlocking superior figurines.

Simultaneously, on December 5, a free content update for the base game, Update 8, will be available to all players. This update features the iconic Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas and introduces a new Star Path, akin to a battle pass, with Winter Disney Princess outfits. A new multiplayer functionality is also part of this update, allowing up to four players to visit each other’s Valleys, exchange items, and peruse what’s in stock at their friend’s unique Scrooge McDuck store.

Looking ahead, Gameloft has laid out an ambitious roadmap for 2024, ensuring a steady stream of updates. New residents of Eternity Isles include Mike and Sulley from Monsters, Inc. and Tiana from The Princess and the Frog. The roadmap also hints at a “Vibrant Villager”, new realms, and Star Path seasons to come.

Dreamlight Valley Comes to a New Platform

For players who prefer gaming on Apple devices, Disney Dreamlight Valley Arcade Edition is set to launch on Apple Arcade. This version will be accessible on the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Mac, featuring the base game, the new expansion, and all the latest updates without the seasonal Star Path or Premium Shop. As an aside, Gameloft also announced that Dreamlight Valley’s soundtrack will be available on all major music streaming platforms.

Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time and Update 8 will launch concurrently on December 5, 2023. Disney Dreamlight Valley is available on PC, PS4/5, Mobile, Switch, Xbox One/Series and Apple Arcade.
