EXCLUSIVE: New Cruella de Vil Card Coming to Disney’s Lorcana

A new card from the upcoming set Rise of the Floodborn for the Disney Lorcana trading card game has now been revealed.

Cruella de Vil has made her journey from cartoon to live action, and now, the character has been given her own Lorcana card. The evil fashionista mistress from the 101 Dalmations franchise, Cruella first appeared on screen in the cartoon movie in 1961. Since then, the 101 Dalmations story has spawned several television show spinoffs and a few more movies, including two live-action versions. The first came in 1996 with 101 Dalmations featuring Glenn Close as Cruella, while the second was the more recent origin story called Cruella, with Emma Stone portraying the titular character. Cruella is flamboyant, conniving and commonly depicted as downright evil, standing out among the pantheon of nefarious characters in the 100+ years of Disney history.

Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn's Cruella De Vil - Perfectly Wretched card

In Lorcana, Cruella de Vil – Perfectly Wretched is a Floodborn Villain who falls into the Sapphire Ink type. She has a summoning cost of 5, but if the player already has another Cruella de Vil card in play, Perfectly Wretched can be summoned and played on top of that card for only 3 Ink. She will give the player 2 Lore points if used to go questing and has decent overall stats. With a Strength of 4 and a Willpower of 3, Cruella is a well-balanced card.

Her ability “Oh, No You Don’t” is an intriguing one, as it hits rather hard against the opponent. When Cruella goes questing, not only does she give the player 2 Lore points but also allows the player to choose an opposing character that loses 2 Strength. Players can use this ability to weaken a foe for a later attack or force their opponent into a move to strengthen that card again. The player’s opponent will almost certainly see Cruella as perfectly wretched when she performs this ability.

Disney Lorcana is a collectible trading card game made by Ravensburger in partnership with Disney and features characters and art, both new and old, from the over 100-year history of the latter. Its play elements offer an easy approach for newcomers to strategy card games but also deliver enough depth to keep experienced players coming back for more. The first set of cards, called The First Chapter, was released in August. The next set of cards, Rise of the Floodborn, will release on Nov. 17.
