The zombie survival game State of Survival has a collaboration event with another popular zombie game, Resident Evil.
A trailer on YouTube for State of Survival from FunPlus revealed a new collaboration with Capcom’s iconic Resident Evil series. The trailer features Village’s Lady Dimitrescu as the main antagonist with heroes Chris Redfield, Ada Wong, and Leon Kennedy as additional characters in the crossover. This collaboration was created to celebrate this Halloween and phase one launched on October 27. The game will also include various events to partake in and cosmetics to acquire. The crossover will be divided into two phases, with phase one focused on Dimitrescu and Redfield from Resident Evil Village. Phase two is scheduled for December 1 and will focus on Wong and Kennedy from Resident Evil 4.
FunPlus’ State of Survival
State of Survival is a free-to-play strategy game from Swiss developer FunPlus. Much like Resident Evil, it is a horror survival series set in a post-apocalyptic world. It follows players as they work to rebuild governments across the globe. As it is an online multiplayer game, players can either work together or fight with one another. The game was first released in 2019 and has since amassed over 100 million total players worldwide.
State of Survival agreed to this collaboration with the Resident Evil series due to how well the two franchises go together. Chris Petrovic, an executive at FunPlus, said, “The incredible synergy between the two franchises makes for a perfect fit, offering fans a truly immersive gaming experience.”
Neither Resident Evil nor State of Survival are strangers to crossing over with other video game franchises. State of Survival had previously collaborated with both DC’s Joker and another iconic zombie series, AMC’s The Walking Dead. Resident Evil, one of Capcom’s most popular franchises, has collaborated with Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds and Dead by Daylight. The series has also made numerous appearances in the Marvel vs. Capcom series.
