Jujutsu Kaisen Mobile RPG Finally Reveals Release Date Window, Gameplay Intro Video

Jujutsu Kaisen has released an introductory trailer for its upcoming mobile game, Phantom Parade.

Featured on Phantom Parade’s official YouTube Channel, the trailer gives JJK fans a first look at the franchise’s first mobile action RPG, which will be free-to-play with optional in-app purchases. Narrated by fan-favorite Satoru Gojo, the intro video showcases cutscenes, gameplay and a lineup of popular characters that will appear in the title upon release. Sumzap, which is also involved with the production of MAPPA’s Jujutsu Kaisen anime series, is developing Phantom Parade for both iOS and Android operating systems. The game is slated for launch in late November.

In addition to major characters like Yuji Itadori, Satoru Gojo, Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki, Phantom Parade also features three completely original characters. Per Anime News Network, Phantom Parade‘s official website recently revealed visuals for Saki Rindo, Kaito Yuki and Kensuke Nagino, voiced by Rina Satou (Negima!), Kotaro Nishiyama (My Happy Marriage) and Rikiya Koyama (Detective Conan), respectively. The game’s theme song, “Avant,” is performed by Eve, the same artist who created Jujutsu Kaisen’s first opening theme, “Kaikai Kitan.”

Phantom Parade is not the only Jujutsu Kaisen game in the works, as Bandai Namco is currently developing a multi-platform console title called Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash, which will be available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch systems. Designed as a PvP fighting game with online and offline co-op, Cursed Clash will have players assume the roles of their favorite Jujutsu characters and face off in fast-paced battles of skill and strategy. The latest trailer revealed the playable characters that will be available upon launch, in addition to the game’s release date, which is set for Feb. 2, 2024.

The Jujutsu Kaisen franchise began with Gege Akutami’s hit manga series, which launched in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump in March 2018. The series’ popularity skyrocketed after the release of MAPPA’s popular anime adaptation, selling over 12 million volumes in 2022 alone. In total, Jujutsu Kaisen has over 80 million copies in circulation worldwide. The franchise’s first animated film, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, was also a major success, shattering box office milestones in 2022 to become one of Japan’s highest-grossing anime films of all time. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 premiered during the Summer 2023 anime season and is still ongoing.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade will launch in late November. The original manga is available in English from VIZ Media.
